Permanent Tooth Root Canal - 1 Canal (Filling Excl.)

Inside every tooth is soft tissue, the pulp, that contains the nerve. When the pulp of a permanent tooth becomes infected or damaged, for example by deep decay or injury, root canal treatment can save the tooth rather than removing it. This item is for a tooth with a single canal, most often a front tooth. Under local anaesthetic, the dentist removes the damaged pulp, cleans and shapes the canal, and seals it to prevent further infection. This relieves the pain and lets you keep your own tooth. Please note this covers the root canal treatment itself; the filling or crown placed on the tooth afterwards is charged separately.

Permanent Tooth Root Canal - 2 Canals (Filling Excl.)

When the nerve, or pulp, inside a permanent tooth is infected or damaged, root canal treatment can save it instead of removing it. This item is for a tooth with two canals, which is typically a premolar (the teeth between the canines and the back molars). Under local anaesthetic, the dentist removes the damaged pulp and then cleans, shapes and seals each of the two canals in turn. Because there are two separate canals to treat, it is a little more involved than a single canal tooth. The treatment relieves pain and keeps your natural tooth in place. Please note this covers the root canal treatment only; the filling or crown placed afterwards is charged separately.

Permanent Tooth Root Canal - 3 Canals (Filling Excl.)

Root canal treatment saves a permanent tooth whose nerve has become infected or damaged, instead of removing it. This item is for a tooth with three canals, which is usually a molar, the larger teeth at the back of the mouth that do most of the chewing. Under local anaesthetic, the dentist removes the damaged pulp and then cleans, shapes and seals each of the three canals. Back teeth have more canals and a more complex shape, so this treatment is more detailed than for front or premolar teeth. The result is the same: pain is relieved and your natural tooth is kept. Please note this covers the root canal treatment only; the filling or crown placed afterwards is charged separately, and back teeth often benefit from a crown.

Permanent Tooth Root Canal - 4 Canals (Filling Excl.)

This is the most involved form of root canal treatment, for a permanent tooth with four canals. Some molars, particularly upper molars, have four root canals rather than three. Each canal has to be located, cleaned, shaped and sealed individually, so a four canal tooth takes more time and care than one with fewer canals. Under local anaesthetic, the dentist removes the infected or damaged pulp from all four canals and seals them to keep infection out. As with any root canal, the aim is to relieve pain and save your natural tooth. Please note this covers the root canal treatment only; the filling or crown placed afterwards is charged separately, and a crown is often recommended for a molar.

Permanent Tooth MTA Pulpotomy (Filling Excl.)

In a young permanent tooth, the root is often still growing for a few years after the tooth comes through. If decay or injury damages the nerve in the crown but the nerve deeper in the root is still healthy, an MTA pulpotomy can save the living part of the tooth. The dentist removes only the damaged pulp from the crown, leaving the healthy root pulp in place, and covers it with MTA, a biocompatible material that protects the nerve and encourages healing. Keeping the root pulp alive lets the root keep developing naturally. This item covers the pulpotomy itself; the filling placed on top afterwards is charged separately. It is carried out under local anaesthetic.

Permanent Tooth Stainless Steel Crown

A stainless steel crown is a ready made metal cap that fits over a whole tooth to protect it. It is used on a permanent back tooth when so much of the tooth has been lost to decay, or weakened by root canal treatment, that a normal filling would not last. Fitting one is straightforward: the tooth is prepared, the right size crown is selected and adjusted, and it is cemented in place to cover and protect what remains. Stainless steel crowns are strong, cope well with chewing forces, and are an economical choice, which makes them especially useful for younger patients and for teeth that may later receive a permanent restoration. The work is done under local anaesthetic.

Scaling (Dual Arch)

Even with good brushing, a hard deposit called tartar (or calculus) can build up where the teeth meet the gums, and once it hardens a toothbrush cannot remove it. Left in place, tartar irritates the gums and can lead to bleeding, redness and gum disease. Detertraj, or scaling, is the gentle cleaning that removes it. This item covers both jaws, so the whole mouth is treated in the session. Using special instruments, the dentist or hygienist carefully lifts the tartar away from the tooth surfaces and the gum line. For children and young people in particular, regular scaling is a simple, important way to keep the gums healthy as they grow. It is usually painless.

Scaling (Single Arch)

Scaling is the removal of tartar that builds up on the tooth surface and along the gum line with special instruments. With the single arch option, the jaw where tartar has gathered is cleaned. Tartar does not come off with brushing, and if it is left it can lead to gum inflammation, bleeding and recession. At Positive Dental Studio the procedure starts with an assessment of your gums; the tartar is removed without harming the tooth, the teeth are polished, and you get advice that protects your gum health.

Endocrown

An endocrown is a modern restoration for a back tooth that has had root canal treatment and lost a large amount of structure. Instead of using a separate post inside the root and then a crown on top, an endocrown is a single piece that anchors into the space left in the pulp chamber and rebuilds the chewing surface in one go. Because it gains support from inside the tooth, less drilling of the remaining tooth is needed. It is usually designed and milled digitally from a strong ceramic or porcelain block, giving a durable and natural looking result. Whether an endocrown suits your tooth depends on how much healthy tooth remains, which the dentist assesses before recommending it.

Fissure Sealant

A fissure sealant is a protective treatment in which the deep grooves and pits on the chewing surface of the back teeth are closed with a thin material. These grooves can be too narrow for a brush to reach; food and bacteria collect there and start decay. The sealant closes these areas and lowers the risk of decay. It is applied especially to newly erupted permanent molars. At Positive Dental Studio your child's teeth are assessed for decay risk, and the sealant is applied painlessly to the teeth that are suitable.

Fluoride Application incl. Polishing (Dual Arch)

Fluoride application is a simple preventive treatment that helps protect teeth from decay. First the teeth are polished to remove soft plaque and surface staining, leaving them clean and smooth. A fluoride gel or varnish is then painted onto the teeth. Fluoride strengthens the enamel, makes it more resistant to the acids that cause decay, and helps repair the earliest mineral loss before a cavity forms. This item covers both the upper and lower jaws. It is especially valuable for children and young people, who benefit from having it repeated regularly while their teeth are most at risk. The whole procedure is quick, comfortable and painless.

Fluoride Application incl. Polishing (Single Arch)

Fluoride application is a simple preventive treatment that helps protect teeth from decay, and this item covers one jaw, the upper or the lower. The teeth in that jaw are first polished to remove soft plaque and surface staining, then coated with a fluoride gel or varnish. Fluoride strengthens the enamel, makes it more resistant to the acids behind decay, and helps repair the very earliest mineral loss before a cavity can form. Treating a single jaw is useful when only one arch needs protection, for instance where the risk or the newly erupted teeth are concentrated there. It is especially worthwhile for children and young people, repeated regularly while their teeth are most vulnerable, and the whole procedure is quick and painless.

Removable Space Maintainer

Baby teeth do an important job of holding space for the adult teeth developing beneath them. If a baby tooth is lost too early, the neighbouring teeth can drift into the gap, leaving too little room for the adult tooth and causing crowding later. A removable space maintainer is a small appliance, a little like a child sized plate, that sits in the mouth and keeps that space open. Being removable, it can be taken out for cleaning and at mealtimes, which makes it easy to keep hygienic. It is often chosen when more than one tooth is missing or where appearance matters. The appliance is made to fit your child's mouth, and we check it regularly as they grow.

Root Canal Dressing

Root canal treatment is sometimes carried out over more than one visit. Between those visits, the dentist may place a medicated dressing inside the tooth, and this is what root canal dressing refers to. After the canal has been cleaned, an antibacterial medicine is placed inside it to calm any inflammation and bring infection under control, and the tooth is closed with a temporary filling to keep the dressing in and bacteria out. This step is common when there is significant infection, or when treatment is deliberately spread over more than one appointment to give the tooth time to settle. At the next visit, the dressing is renewed or, once the tooth is healthy and quiet, the canal is permanently sealed.

Pulp Capping (Pulp Protection)

When decay reaches deep into a tooth and comes very close to the nerve, or pulp, removing all the decay can leave the nerve only just covered, or briefly exposed. Pulp capping is a protective step that tries to keep that nerve alive so a full root canal treatment can be avoided. After the decay is cleaned away, the dentist places a soothing, biocompatible material over the area nearest the nerve, which calms it and encourages a protective layer to form, then restores the tooth with a filling. If the nerve is still covered by a thin layer of tooth it is called an indirect cap; if a tiny point of nerve is exposed, a direct cap is placed right on it. The aim throughout is to preserve the tooth's own living nerve.

Lingual Arch

A lingual arch is a thin, custom made wire that runs along the inside, or tongue side, of the lower teeth, attached to bands on the back molars. It is a fixed appliance, meaning it stays in place rather than being taken in and out. Its most common job in children is to act as a space maintainer in the lower jaw when several baby teeth have been lost, holding the back teeth in position so they do not drift forward and crowd out the adult teeth coming through. Because it sits on the inside of the teeth, it is discreet and does not get in the way of eating or speaking. It needs no daily handling by your child, and we check it at regular visits as the teeth develop.

MTA Pulp Capping

When decay reaches deep into a tooth, removing it can bring the dentist very close to the nerve, or pulp, and sometimes expose a tiny point of it. Rather than moving straight to root canal treatment, a pulp cap can protect the healthy nerve so the tooth stays alive. In MTA pulp capping, the exposed or near exposed area is covered with MTA, a biocompatible material that seals the nerve, shields it from irritation and encourages it to heal and lay down new protective tissue. A filling is then placed over the top. Whether pulp capping is suitable depends on how healthy the nerve still is and how deep the decay was, which the dentist assesses carefully before choosing it.

Palatal Arch

A palatal arch is a small, fixed orthodontic appliance made of a thin wire that attaches to the molars at the back of the upper jaw and curves across the roof of the mouth, the palate. It is not removable and sits out of sight, so most people forget it is there. Its job is to keep the upper molars in the right position: it can stop them rotating or drifting forwards, help hold space, and keep teeth steady while other orthodontic treatment is carried out. This makes it useful for guiding the developing bite in children and young people. Fitting it is simple and comfortable, and because it is fixed, there is nothing for the patient to take in and out.

Pediatric Zirconia Crown

A pediatric zirconia crown is a white, tooth like cap that covers baby teeth that have lost a lot of structure to decay or a fracture. A baby tooth that cannot be repaired with a filling is protected with this crown and regains its natural look. Since baby teeth matter for chewing and speech until the permanent teeth come through, keeping a damaged baby tooth in place is worthwhile. At Positive Dental Studio the procedure starts with an assessment of the tooth; if it is suitable, the tooth is restored with an aesthetic zirconia crown, and care is taken to keep your child comfortable.

Regenerative Endodontic Treatment (Filling Excl.)

When a permanent tooth comes through in childhood, its root needs a few more years to finish forming. If the nerve in such a tooth is damaged by injury or deep decay before the root is complete, a traditional root canal would leave the root short and thin walled. Regenerative endodontic treatment offers a different path. The canal is gently and thoroughly disinfected, and conditions are then created inside the tooth that encourage the body's own healing cells to move in. Over time this can help the root walls thicken and the root continue to develop, making the tooth stronger. Unlike conventional treatment, which fills the canal as a sealed space, this approach aims to restore living, functioning tissue. This item does not include the final filling, which is charged separately.

Resin Infiltration Treatment

Resin infiltration is a gentle, no drill way to treat the earliest stage of tooth decay, before a cavity has formed. At this stage decay shows as a chalky white spot where the enamel has lost minerals but is still intact on the surface. A thin, flowing resin is applied to the area and soaks into the tiny pores within the enamel, then it is set with a light. This seals off the weakened enamel from the acids and bacteria that would let the decay progress, effectively stopping it, and because the resin fills the pores it also reduces the white, opaque look of the spot so the tooth appears more even. No anaesthetic or drilling is needed, which makes it a comfortable, painless choice, especially welcome for children and young people.

Fixed Space Maintainer

Baby teeth do more than help a child eat and smile: each one also holds space in the jaw for the adult tooth developing beneath it. If a baby tooth is lost earlier than expected, through decay or injury, the neighbouring teeth can start to drift into the gap. That can leave too little room for the adult tooth, which may then come through crooked or stay trapped. A fixed space maintainer prevents this. It is a small appliance, usually a band or crown fitted to the tooth next to the gap with a wire that holds the space, cemented in place so it stays put. The child does not need to take it out, and there is nothing to lose or forget. When the adult tooth is ready to come through, the dentist simply removes it.

Splint Application

A knock to the mouth, common in children from falls or sports, can leave a tooth loose, pushed out of position, or with its supporting bone bruised. A splint holds that tooth still so it has the chance to settle and heal. A thin wire or a small amount of composite is used to gently join the injured tooth to the firm, healthy teeth on either side, keeping it stable without stopping the area being kept clean. This support takes the pressure off the healing ligament and bone around the tooth. The splint is temporary: the dentist decides how long it stays based on the type of injury, then removes it once the tooth has firmed up again. Prompt splinting after a dental injury gives the best chance of keeping the tooth.

Strip Crown

A strip crown is a way of rebuilding a front baby tooth that has lost a lot of structure to decay or a knock, restoring it to a natural shape and appearance. It is especially valued for front teeth, where how the tooth looks really matters to a child's smile and confidence. The dentist uses a clear, pre shaped plastic shell, called a strip or celluloid form, that fits over the tooth like a mould. Tooth coloured composite is placed inside this transparent form and set hard with a light, recreating the natural contour of the tooth. Once the composite has set, the clear form is peeled away, leaving a smooth, tooth coloured crown that blends in. This item covers the crown work itself; any underlying filling needed first is charged separately. The treatment is carried out gently, with a calm, child friendly approach.

Primary Tooth Pulpotomy (MTA) + Filling

When decay in a baby (primary) tooth reaches the nerve, the whole tooth does not always need to be removed. In a pulpotomy, the dentist removes only the damaged nerve tissue from the crown of the tooth, while leaving the healthy nerve in the roots in place. That remaining tissue is then covered with MTA, a biocompatible material that protects the nerve and supports healing, and the tooth is restored with a filling. Keeping the baby tooth matters because it holds space and guides the permanent tooth coming through beneath it. This item includes both the pulpotomy and the filling placed over it. The treatment is carried out under local anaesthetic, with a calm, child friendly approach.

Primary Tooth Pulpotomy (MTA) + SSC

When a back baby tooth has extensive decay that has reached the nerve, a pulpotomy can save it, but a normal filling may not be strong enough to hold up to years of chewing. In that case the tooth is finished with a stainless steel crown instead. As in any pulpotomy, the dentist first removes the damaged nerve tissue from the crown of the tooth and caps the healthy root pulp with MTA, a biocompatible material that protects the nerve. The tooth is then covered completely with a ready made metal crown, which protects what remains and lets the tooth work normally until it is naturally lost. This item includes both the pulpotomy and the stainless steel crown. It is done under local anaesthetic with a calm, child friendly approach.

Primary Tooth Extraction (with Digital Anesthesia)

Baby tooth extraction is the removal of a baby tooth from a child's mouth for various reasons. Baby teeth normally fall out on their own as the permanent tooth pushes up, but extraction can be needed in cases such as advanced decay, infection or a tooth that has not come out when it should. At Positive Dental Studio this is done with digital anaesthesia. Digital anaesthesia delivers the medicine in a controlled, slow way, which eases the discomfort the child feels and the fear of the needle. The tooth is assessed beforehand and the procedure is made as comfortable as possible.

Primary Tooth Extraction (with Topical Anesthesia)

As a baby tooth reaches the end of its life, its root gradually dissolves away and the tooth becomes very loose, ready to be replaced by the permanent tooth beneath. When a baby tooth is this wobbly, it can often be removed using only topical anaesthesia, a numbing gel or spray applied to the gum surface, with no injection required. This makes for a gentle, low stress experience, which is especially reassuring for children who feel anxious about needles. The dentist checks first that the tooth is loose enough and suitable for this approach. If a tooth still has a firm root, a different method with proper local anaesthetic would be needed instead. When suitable, the removal itself is quick and the child is usually surprised how easy it was.

Primary Tooth Root Canal (1 Canal, Filling Excl.)

When the nerve of a baby tooth becomes fully inflamed or infected, rather than just the part in the crown, the whole nerve needs to be treated. This item is for a baby tooth with a single canal. The dentist cleans the infected tissue from the canal and fills it, much like a root canal in an adult tooth, but with an important difference: the material used in baby teeth is resorbable. That means as the permanent tooth pushes up and dissolves the baby tooth's root, the filling material is reabsorbed by the body too, so the baby tooth can still fall out naturally at the right time. The aim is to keep the tooth comfortable and in place until then, which also protects the space for the adult tooth. This item covers the canal treatment only; the filling placed on top is charged separately.

Primary Tooth Root Canal (2 Canals, Filling Excl.)

This treatment is for a baby tooth with two canals, which is usually a back baby molar, where the whole nerve has become inflamed or infected. Because the molars at the back have more than one root canal, each canal has to be cleaned and treated, making this a little more involved than a single canal tooth. Under local anaesthetic, the dentist removes the affected nerve tissue from both canals and fills them with a resorbable material. As with all baby tooth canal treatments, this material is chosen so that it can be reabsorbed by the body: when the permanent tooth later comes up and dissolves the baby tooth's roots, the filling goes with them, letting the baby tooth fall out naturally at the right time. This keeps the tooth comfortable and protects the space for the adult tooth. This item covers the canal treatment only; the filling on top is charged separately.

Primary Tooth Root Canal (3 Canals, Filling Excl.)

This treatment is for a baby tooth with three canals, which is usually an upper baby molar, where the whole nerve has become inflamed or infected. Upper back baby teeth tend to have three canals, so each one must be found, cleaned and filled, making this the most detailed of the baby tooth canal treatments. Under local anaesthetic, the dentist removes the affected nerve tissue from all three canals and fills them with a resorbable material. This is the key feature of canal treatment in baby teeth: the filling is designed to be broken down by the body, so when the permanent tooth later comes up and dissolves the baby tooth's roots, the filling is reabsorbed with them and the baby tooth can shed naturally at the right time. Keeping the tooth until then relieves pain and holds the space for the adult tooth. This item covers the canal treatment only; the filling on top is charged separately.

Primary Tooth Composite Filling 1 Surface (Cervical)

This is a tooth coloured filling for a baby tooth where decay affects a single surface in the cervical area, the neck of the tooth right next to the gum line. Composite is a material that bonds to the tooth and is matched to its natural colour, so the repair blends in. The dentist removes the small area of decay, prepares the surface, and places the composite in layers, hardening each with a light. Because this area sits close to the gum, it calls for a careful, gentle technique, which suits children well. The treatment is limited to one surface, is completed in a single visit, and restores the tooth so it looks natural and works normally. Keeping baby teeth healthy and intact helps a child eat comfortably and holds space for the permanent teeth.

Primary Tooth Composite Filling 1 Surface (O)

This is a tooth coloured composite filling for a baby molar where decay affects the occlusal surface, the flat biting surface on top of the tooth. The grooves and pits of this chewing surface are a very common place for decay to start in children, because food and plaque collect there. The dentist removes the decay from this single surface, prepares it, and places composite in layers, hardening each with a light and shaping it to rebuild the natural chewing surface. The material is matched to the tooth's colour, so the repair is hard to see. The treatment is limited to one surface and completed in a single visit. Restoring a baby molar like this keeps it comfortable for chewing and protects it until the permanent tooth is ready to replace it.

Primary Tooth Composite Filling 2 Surface (DO)

This composite filling restores a baby molar where decay involves two surfaces: the distal surface, which faces the neighbouring tooth behind it, and the occlusal, or biting, surface on top. Decay often spreads between the side and top of a back tooth, and treating both at once requires care to rebuild the point where the tooth touches its neighbour. To do this neatly, the dentist usually places a thin band called a matrix around the tooth, which shapes the side wall of the filling and recreates a proper contact point. After removing the decay, composite is added in layers and hardened with a light, then shaped to restore the tooth's natural form and bite. The material is matched to the tooth colour and the work is completed in one visit, keeping the baby tooth healthy until it is naturally replaced.

Primary Tooth Composite Filling 2 Surface (MO)

This composite filling restores a baby molar where decay involves two surfaces: the mesial surface, which faces the neighbouring tooth in front of it, and the occlusal, or biting, surface on top. Decay frequently begins at the contact point between two teeth and works its way onto the chewing surface, so both need treating together. Rebuilding that contact point accurately matters, so the dentist usually places a thin band called a matrix around the tooth; this gives the filling a proper side wall and restores a natural contact with the neighbouring tooth. After the decay is removed, tooth coloured composite is added in layers, each set with a light, and shaped to recreate the side and biting surfaces. Matched to the tooth's colour and completed in one visit, this keeps the baby tooth healthy and comfortable until it is naturally replaced.

Primary Tooth Composite Filling 3 Surface (MOD)

This is the most extensive composite filling for a baby molar, covering three surfaces at once: the mesial and distal surfaces, which face the neighbouring teeth on each side, and the occlusal, or biting, surface on top. It is needed when decay runs across the middle of the tooth and involves both contact points with the teeth either side. Because contacts on both sides must be rebuilt accurately, the dentist uses a matrix band around the tooth to shape the side walls and restore natural contacts. After the decay is removed, tooth coloured composite is placed in layers, each set with a light, and shaped to recreate the tooth's form and bite. When a baby molar has lost a great deal of structure, a stainless steel crown may be a more durable choice, and the dentist will advise which option best suits the tooth. Completed in one visit, this keeps the tooth working until it is naturally replaced.

Primary Tooth MTA Pulpotomy (Filling Excl.)

When decay in a baby tooth reaches the nerve in the crown but the nerve in the roots is still healthy, a pulpotomy can keep the tooth alive rather than removing it. The dentist removes only the damaged nerve tissue from the crown and caps the healthy root pulp with MTA, a biocompatible material that protects the nerve and supports healing. This particular item covers the pulpotomy step on its own; the filling or crown that restores the tooth afterwards is charged separately, which gives flexibility in how the tooth is finally rebuilt. Keeping the baby tooth matters because it holds space and guides the permanent tooth coming through beneath it. The treatment is carried out under local anaesthetic, with a calm, child friendly approach.

Primary Tooth Root Canal + SSC

When the whole nerve of a baby molar is inflamed or infected, it needs full root canal treatment, and a tooth treated this way is left more fragile and prone to fracture. For a back tooth that takes heavy chewing forces, the most reliable way to protect it is a stainless steel crown. This item combines both steps. Under local anaesthetic, the dentist cleans the canals and fills them with a resorbable material, the kind used in baby teeth so the tooth can still shed naturally later. The tooth is then fully covered with a pre formed metal crown, which wraps over it and takes the pressure of biting, protecting the treated tooth until it is naturally lost. Keeping the tooth this way also holds the space for the permanent tooth. The work is done under local anaesthetic with a calm, child friendly approach.

Trauma Splint

A trauma splint is an urgent treatment used straight after a dental injury, such as a tooth that has been knocked sideways, badly loosened, or even completely knocked out and put back into its socket. To give the tooth the best chance of healing, it needs to be held steady while the ligament and bone that support it recover. The dentist bonds the injured tooth to the firm, healthy teeth beside it, usually with a flexible splint that allows a small amount of natural movement, which helps the support tissues heal well. How long the splint stays in place depends on the type of injury and is decided by the dentist, often ranging from a few days to a few weeks, after which it is removed. Acting quickly after a dental injury makes a real difference to whether the tooth can be saved, so prompt care is important.

Space Maintainer (Removable)

A removable space maintainer is used, like a fixed one, to keep the gap open after a baby tooth is lost too early, so the permanent tooth has room to come through. The difference is that this version is not cemented to a tooth: it is a small acrylic plate, often with clasps, that rests against the palate or along the dental arch and that the child can take in and out. This design is especially useful when several baby teeth have been lost or the gap is wide, where a removable plate can hold more than one space at once. It stops neighbouring teeth drifting in and protects room for the developing adult teeth. Because it comes out, it is easy to clean, but it works best when it is worn consistently as the dentist advises, with regular check ups to monitor progress.

Space Maintainer (Fixed)

A fixed space maintainer keeps the gap from a single early lost baby tooth open so the permanent tooth below has room to come through. This version is the band and loop type: a small metal band is fitted around the healthy tooth next to the gap, and a smooth wire loop extends across the space to rest gently against the tooth on the other side. It is cemented in place, so it stays put and the child cannot remove it, which means there is nothing to lose or forget to wear. By stopping the neighbouring teeth from drifting into the gap, it preserves the exact space the developing adult tooth needs. It sits quietly out of the way during everyday eating and brushing. When the permanent tooth is ready to come through, the dentist simply removes the appliance.

Surface Fluoride Treatment (Half Arch)

Surface fluoride treatment is a simple preventive measure that strengthens the enamel and makes teeth more resistant to decay. A fluoride varnish or gel is painted onto the surfaces of the teeth, where the fluoride is absorbed into the enamel and helps it stand up to the acids that cause cavities. This particular item covers one half of the jaw. Unlike some fluoride appointments, it does not include a polish or cleaning beforehand; the fluoride is simply applied to the tooth surface, which keeps the visit short and very comfortable for the child. The application itself is painless and quick, and your child can return to normal activities straight afterwards, usually just avoiding eating or drinking for a short while so the fluoride can work. Repeated at the intervals your dentist recommends, it noticeably lowers the risk of decay.

Primary Tooth Stainless Steel Crown

A stainless steel crown is a pre formed metal cap that fits right over a baby molar, covering it completely. It is used when a baby tooth has too much decay or damage for a normal filling to hold reliably, since a back tooth has to cope with years of heavy chewing. By wrapping over the whole tooth, the crown protects what remains from every direction and takes the force of biting, which makes it the most durable way to restore a badly broken down baby tooth. The crowns come in a range of sizes, so the dentist selects one that fits, shapes it, and cements it in place, often in a single visit. Keeping the baby tooth this way means it stays comfortable and functional until it is naturally lost, which also preserves the space the permanent tooth will need. The treatment is done with a calm, child friendly approach.

Polishing(Dual Arch)

Polishing is the gentle finishing step that leaves teeth feeling smooth and looking bright. Using a soft rotating brush or rubber cup with a special polishing paste, the dentist or hygienist cleans the tooth surfaces of both jaws, lifting away soft plaque and the surface stains that everyday foods and drinks can leave behind. It is important to understand how this differs from scaling, also called detertraj: scaling removes hardened tartar, while polishing focuses on cleaning and smoothing the surface itself. Because plaque clings less easily to a smooth surface, polishing also helps keep teeth cleaner between visits. For children it is a particularly pleasant treatment, completely painless and quick, often described as making the teeth feel slippery clean. It is usually carried out as a complementary part of a routine dental cleaning.

A strip crown rebuilds a front baby tooth that has lost a lot of structure to decay or a knock, giving it back a natural shape and colour. In this listing only the crown work is charged; any filling or other groundwork that the tooth needs before the crown is handled and charged separately, which keeps each step clear. The dentist uses a clear, pre shaped plastic shell, called a strip or celluloid form, that fits over the tooth like a small mould. Tooth coloured composite is placed inside this transparent form and set hard with a light, so it takes on the natural contour of the tooth. Once the composite has set, the clear form is peeled away, leaving a smooth, tooth coloured crown that blends in with the neighbouring teeth. Front teeth matter a great deal to a child's smile and confidence, so restoring them naturally is worthwhile. The treatment is carried out gently, with a calm, child friendly approach.

Primary Tooth Extraction (with Local Anesthesia)

Sometimes a baby tooth needs to be removed while its root is still firm, for example when decay or infection has damaged the tooth but it has not loosened on its own, or when a tooth needs to come out to help the bite develop. In these cases a surface numbing gel alone is not enough, so the area is fully numbed with a local anaesthetic injection. This is the key difference from extraction with topical anaesthesia, which suits only very loose teeth. Once the area is completely numb, the tooth can be removed comfortably and without pain. To make the experience easier for the child, the gum is usually numbed on the surface first so the injection itself is barely felt, and the whole visit is handled with a calm, reassuring, child friendly approach. Removing the tooth relieves pain or infection and, where needed, the dentist will discuss keeping the space for the permanent tooth.

Permanent Tooth Composite Filling 1 Surface (Cervical)

This is a tooth coloured filling for a permanent tooth where decay or wear affects a single surface in the cervical area, the neck of the tooth right next to the gum line. This part of the tooth can become exposed and sensitive through firm brushing or gum recession, and damage here matters both for appearance and because it can cause sensitivity to hot and cold. Composite bonds to the tooth and is matched to its natural shade, so the repair blends in. The dentist removes the decayed or worn tissue, prepares the surface, and places the composite in layers, hardening each with a light and finishing it smoothly along the gum line. Because the area is close to the gum, it calls for a careful technique. The treatment is limited to one surface and completed in a single visit, restoring both the look of the tooth and comfort against temperature changes.

Permanent Tooth Composite Filling 1 Surface (O)

This is a tooth coloured composite filling for a permanent molar or premolar where decay affects the occlusal surface, the flat biting surface on top of the tooth. The natural grooves and pits of this chewing surface, called fissures, are the most common place for decay to begin, because plaque and food debris gather there and are hard to clean out. The dentist removes the decay from this single surface, prepares it, and places composite in layers, hardening each with a light and shaping it to rebuild the natural chewing anatomy so the tooth bites correctly. The material is matched to the tooth's colour, so the repair is barely visible. Because these are permanent teeth meant to last a lifetime, treating decay early and restoring the surface accurately helps protect the tooth's long term health. The treatment is limited to one surface and completed in a single visit.

Permanent Tooth Composite Filling 2 Surface (MO/DO)

This composite filling restores a permanent molar or premolar where decay involves two surfaces: one of the side surfaces that faces a neighbouring tooth (the mesial or distal surface) together with the occlusal, or biting, surface on top. Decay very often starts at the contact point between two teeth, where a toothbrush cannot easily reach, and then spreads onto the chewing surface. Treating both at once requires care to rebuild the point where the tooth touches its neighbour, so that the teeth meet correctly and food does not pack between them. To do this, the dentist places a thin band called a matrix around the tooth, which shapes the side wall of the filling and recreates a proper contact. After the decay is removed, tooth coloured composite is added in layers, hardened with a light, and shaped to restore the tooth's natural form and bite. Matched to the tooth colour and completed in one visit, it protects this permanent tooth for the long term.

Permanent Tooth Composite Filling 3 Surface (MOD)

This is the most extensive composite filling for a permanent molar or premolar, covering three surfaces at once: the mesial and distal surfaces, which face the neighbouring teeth on each side, and the occlusal, or biting, surface on top. It is needed when decay runs across the middle of the tooth and involves both contact points with the teeth either side. Because contacts on both sides must be rebuilt accurately, the dentist uses a matrix band around the tooth to shape the side walls and restore natural contacts, so the teeth meet correctly and food does not pack in. After the decay is removed, tooth coloured composite is placed in layers, each set with a light, and shaped to recreate the tooth's form and bite. When a permanent tooth has lost a very large amount of structure, a filling alone may leave it weak, and the dentist may recommend a more protective option such as a crown or an onlay; they will explain which choice gives the tooth the best long term outlook.
