Root Canal Dressing

Root canal treatment is sometimes carried out over more than one visit. Between those visits, the dentist may place a medicated dressing inside the tooth, and this is what root canal dressing refers to. After the canal has been cleaned, an antibacterial medicine is placed inside it to calm any inflammation and bring infection under control, and the tooth is closed with a temporary filling to keep the dressing in and bacteria out.
