The temporomandibular joint (TMJ) is the joint that connects the lower jaw to the skull, just in front of the ear. Most jaw joint problems improve with non surgical care such as medication, physiotherapy, a night guard, or minimally invasive joint procedures. Open joint surgery is reserved for advanced problems that have not responded to these measures, and it treats one side. It allows the surgeon to see and address the structural problem within the joint directly. Because it is a significant procedure, it is only considered after careful assessment, and your clinician will explain whether it is appropriate for you.

Alveolit Cerrahi Tedavisi, diş çekimi sonrası soketteki pıhtının erken kaybolmasıyla gelişen ve ağrılı bir iyileşme gecikmesi olan alveolitin (kuru soket) tedavisidir. İşlemde soket nazikçe temizlenir, iltihaplı artıklar uzaklaştırılır ve ağrıyı azaltıp iyileşmeyi destekleyen pansuman uygulanır. Amaç ağrıyı hızla hafifletmek ve normal iyileşmeyi yeniden başlatmaktır.
Apikal Rezeksiyon (Kanal Hariç), kanal tedavisine rağmen iyileşmeyen bir dişin kök ucundaki iltihaplı dokunun ve kök ucunun küçük bir cerrahi işlemle temizlenmesidir. Diş eti küçük bir kesi ile kaldırılır, kök ucu ve çevresindeki iltihap alınır, alan kapatılır. Bu işlem kök kanal tedavisini içermez; amaç dişi çekmeden korumaktır.
Apse Drenajı ve Tedavisi (Extraoral), diş kaynaklı bir enfeksiyonun ağız dışına, yüz veya boyun dokularına yayılarak oluşturduğu apsenin deri tarafından küçük bir kesi ile boşaltılması ve tedavi edilmesidir. Bu tür apseler daha ciddi seyredebildiğinden hızlı müdahale, enfeksiyon kaynağına yönelik tedavi ve gerektiğinde antibiyotik desteği önemlidir. İşlem uygun anestezi altında yapılır.
Apse Drenajı ve Tedavisi (İntraoral), diş kaynaklı bir enfeksiyon sonucu oluşan ve ağız içinde toplanan iltihabın (apse) küçük bir kesi ile boşaltılması ve tedavi edilmesidir. Biriken iltihap drene edilerek ağrı ve şişlik hızla rahatlar; ardından enfeksiyonun kaynağına yönelik tedavi planlanır ve gerektiğinde antibiyotik desteği verilir. Lokal anestezi altında yapılır.
